The STFC Impact Acceleration Account facilitates the application of university research to the real world, benefiting society at large and helping to boost the economy. The STFC IAA provides support for the College's academics to develop impact relevant activities which capitalise on the knowledge generated during your STFC funded research and training grants. The resource can be used for a broad set of activities that deliver or promote the benefits of research and PhD training to a full range of end users across industry, the public sector, the third sector and the wider public.

The impact activity can be used to support projects that build upon research supported directly by STFC or upon research that has been facilitated by significant input or use of STFC-supported facilities.

The College has been awarded a fourth year of STFC Impact Acceleration Account funding for projects and activities running until March 2018. This year's funds are expected to align to both the IAA general guidance and the Industrial Strategy Green Paper. As such, the College has devolved the small amount of funding awarded to the Imperial Space Lab, which is running a call for applications that will address the Industrial Strategy Challenges in the STFC remit, including 'Satellites and Space Technology'.

For more information, including eligibility criteria and details of the internal call, please see the call guidance (pdf) from the Imperial Space Lab.
